What do journalist John Campbell, Bachelor star Art Green and X Factor contestant Joe Irvine all have in common?

They're all contenders in this year's quote of the year competition.

Organised by Massey University, the competition is open for voting in a bid to find the year's best, funniest, most dramatic or most damning statement.

Other contenders include waitress Amanda Bailey talking about the time John Key pulled her ponytail, All Black coach Steve Hansen discussing the Rugby World Cup,
