As a way of saying sorry for selling a bug-riddled Assassin's Creed Unity to gamers, Ubisoft will release the game's first downloadable content pack, Dead Kings, free of charge.
"We know that it was a highly-anticipated moment for many of you," said Ubisoft Montreal and Toronto CEO Yannis Mallat, "as you looked forward to taking part in the first truly next generation Assassin's Creed game."
"Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues. I want to sincerely apologise on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin's Creed team. These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential."
As they've already purchased all Assassin's Creed Unity DLC, Ubisoft will offer Season Pass holders a free game instead. They can choose from Far Cry 4, The Crew, Watch Dogs, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Rayman Legends and Just Dance 2015.
Season Pass holders will also get additional content, including the upcoming sidescroller Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China.
