Action-drama series Banshee - which stars Kiwi thesp Antony Starr as an ex-convict who assumes the identity of a sheriff in a small Pennsylvania town - has been renewed for a third season, to air in early 2015.
The show will retain the services of key creative staff, including producers Alan Ball, Jonathan Tropper, Peter Macdissi and David Shickler, and showrunner Greg Yaitanes, The Hollywood Reporter said.
Banshee won an Emmy award in 2013 for special visual effects, and has become a bright spot for network Cinemax, growing into one of the channels highest rating shows.
The second season of Banshee is currently airing on SoHo, Mondays at 8.30pm.
