Nicole Kidman became an online phenomenon at the Oscars 2017 when fans noticed her bizarre seal-like clapping technique.

But there's a new style that's caused a stir online, with viewers of the 2018 Emmy Awards pointing out Antonio Banderas' 'weird' clapping according to DailyMail.

The movie star, 58, was sat next to girlfriend Nicole Kimpel, 38, at Monday's ceremony when the camera panned to him to applauding.

Antonio was seen bending his two middle fingers as he clapped, giving his hand a claw-like appearance.

Others pointed out that'if we meme'd Nicole Kidman clapping, we MUST meme the hell out of whatever Antonio Banderas was just doing with his hands.'

Nicole was lampooned for clapping 'like a seal' at the Oscars last year, something she later attributed to not wanting to damage the very expensive diamond rings she was wearing.
