KEY POINTS:
Actor Andy Serkis is set to re-team with Kiwi director Peter Jackson for DreamWorks trilogy based on cartoon character Tintin, according to Variety.
The Hollywood trade publication reported Serkis, who provided the movements and expressions for the animated Gollum in Lord of the Rings and the ape in King Kong, will again play a performance-capture role.
Variety said the makers declined to name which part he will play, besides saying it will not be that of the main character, Tintin.
Steven Spielberg and Jackson will each helm at least one of the three films, though DreamWorks would not comment on the specific lineup.
Principal photography on the first film is scheduled to begin in September 2008, although work by Jackson's visual effects company Weta Digital will begin before then.
