Actress Amanda Bynes has broken her social media silence, giving fans a rare update on her life and wellbeing six months after she last used her Twitter account.
The 30-year-old former teen star, who shot to fame in Nickelodeon series All That and The Amanda Show, has not acted since a 2010 supporting role in Easy A.
Since then, the star has been beset with legal issues and an at-times public mental health battle, with frequent stays in psychiatric care.
In 2014, her parents were granted conservatorship over Bynes' affairs.
Bynes hasn't been heard from for six months - but she says she's happily settling into student life.
Nowadays, she's shunned her former Hollywood lifestyle in favour of a new pursuit: studying fashion.
Tweeting to her 3.4 million followers for the first time since a February tweet in which she showed off a new haircut, Bynes gave a brief but positive update about her life nowadays.
"Hi everybody! I haven't tweeted in a long time and I want to say hi! I've been really busy at FIDM [her school, the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising], and I just finished my midterms," she tweeted.
"I am really loving school and I feel that I am learning a lot. I enjoy all of my classes and my teachers are excellent," she continued.
"I'm really appreciative of all that FIDM is giving me. I've been in school learning about the fashion business so I don't have time to tweet."
The star was beset with legal troubles in recent years, exacerbated by her public mental health battle.
Bynes went on to clarify that her official Twitter account is the only form of social media she uses to communicate with fans, and that she has asked Twitter to take another account posing as her offline.
This comes after renewed media interest this week in another, unverified Twitter account which many believe Bynes uses to express her thoughts away from the watchful eye of her parents.
While news outlets including Hollywood Life, Gawker and Perez Hilton have in the past reported on the "secret" account, both Bynes and whoever is behind the account have vehemently denied that they are linked.
