The worlds of music, movies, sports and fashion collide today as celebrities attend the star-studded Costume Institute gala at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Organised by Vogue magazine, the annual party this year celebrates the Institute's new exhibit - Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy.
Considered one of thekey dates in the fashion-obsessed world of Hollywood, many celebrity attendees employ the talents of top designers, stylists, hairdressers and make up artists for the event, much the same as they would for the Academy Awards.
