Subtitled "33 Artists That Shaped the Prog Rock Era", this is the Father's Day gift you've been looking for if your Dad looked like a member of the Phoenix Foundation back in the 70s. It casts a wide net over rock's most indulgent period, if some obvious acts slip by and some tracks' inclusions are mystifying (like Andrew Lloyd Webber's South Bank Show theme). Otherwise, it's it got the prog lot - the famously flute-y (Jethro Tull, Camel), the annoying (Gong, Uriah Heep), the keyboard-stricken (ELP, Rick Wakeman) and more. Buyer beware: The cover might make Dad think he's got the Avatar soundtrack instead.
