Seasoned singer-songwriter, cancer survivor and Cougar Town guest star Crow opts for a retro-soul makeover on her latest. Which means Stax horns aplenty, buoyant Motown grooves, covers of Terence Trent D'Arby's Sign Your Name (with Justin Timberlake) and the Jackon 5's I Want You Back (Crow was a back-up singer for Michael who she seems to be channelling on the track).
Oh, and a reggae tune Eye to Eye featuring one Keith Richards on guitar.
But while the title might suggest she's heading out of town, it's no real departure from her four-square country-rock of old, her songs don't exactly let rip on her personal upheavals of recent years and her thin dainty voice sounds underpowered in the robust soul settings.
