Rating: 3.5/5
After two solid albums of originals in past years forthcoming tourist Diamond delivers an easier sell - a covers-set of pop-rock ballads including a grim reading of his own I'm A Believer which sure removes any Monkee business.
That slow-motion earnestness also gets the better of Midnight Train to Georgia and Desperado among others. But on Ain't No Sunshine, Blackbird, Hallelujah and Harry Nilsson's Don't Forget Me, Diamond sure sings 'em like he wrote 'em.
