Much like fellow soul sisters Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu, Jill Scott is not as prolific as you'd like someone with her talent to be.
But like Badu, who came sauntering back into the fray with two outstanding albums, when Scott does release something it's usually top notch. Apart from long soppy soul ballad Hear My Call, her fourth album is poised and powerful soul music, especially the silky futuristic flow of nine-minute epic Le Boom Vent Suite.
For those who lost touch with Scott after her timeless 2000 debut Who Is Jill Scott?: Words and Sounds, Vol. 1, now could be the time to reconnect with this Philly soul sister.
