Mayfield was just a teenager when a copy of an album she'd recorded in her bedroom fell into the hands of Dan Auerbach from The Black Keys. The young singer from Ohio has now put out two albums under Auerbach's tutelage, including her latest, Tell Me, a collection of country rock that warms the cockles of your heart.
There is a sense of vulnerability that surrounds Mayfield and her slow, sexy drawl, but it's complemented by the sure touch of Auerbach on production.
