It would be lovely to say that by self-titling their fourth album, Interpol had returned to their chart-topping roots but unfortunately, the move reflects the lack of creativity on the record.
While tracks Summer Well and lead single Barricade are somewhat reminiscent of their rousing 2002 hit Say Hello to the Angels in a more pop-rock Killers kind-of-way, elsewhere it is a tight, but bland collection.
It might please the long-time fans but is unlikely to excite anyone else.
