This reissued remixed album was originally Iggy's first post-Stooges studio effort in 1974. Though it wasn't released until three years later, after the Bowie-mentored The Idiot and Lust for Life. With latter-day Stooges' guitarist Williamson - playing with Pop at the Big Day Out yesterday - playing and producing, it's Pop caught between New York Dolls and Rolling Stones rawk and enough saxaphone to sink the Love Boat. The title track is a stirring ode to the decadent LA that Pop had stranded himself in. The rest is of curiousity value only, showing a time when the godfather of punk sounded like the bastard son of Jagger.
