Verdict: Rare flashes of brilliance, shame about the overall impact.

Jazz man Herbie Hancock has conjured up classics in his time - and some awful nonsense too (Feets Don't Fail Me Now anyone?).

In this case, bringing together everyone from Pink to Congolese legends Knonono No 1 to collaborate is a great idea, shame about the overall impact which at times is jazz-meets-world music drivel.

A rare flash of brilliance are the inspired grooves of Mali's Tinariwen and Los Lobos on Tamatant Tilay/Exodus.
