The often disgusting and downright mean things rappers get away with really is something. On Game's fourth, star-studded album everyone from Erykah Badu (it's too dirty to recount here) to the cronies at Interscope records are in his sights. But despite the posturing, it's patchy.
At times he's at his punishing and epic best, like on Los Angeles' tirade The City, the smarmy and silly Martians Vs Goblins (with Lil Wayne and ruthless LA youngster Tyler, The Creator), and Good Girls Go Bad (featuring Drake), with its swaggering beats and brass.
Ricky is ridiculously melodramatic and Pot of Gold (with Chris Brown) somehow manages to be chest-beating and cheesy all in one. But there is no denying the guy's continuing pulling power with Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Big Boi also appearing in various different guises and with varying degrees of success.
