With a career starting in the 50s, playing Ghanaian high-life music, through to Afrobeat, jazz and collaborations with Fela Kuti, 74-year-old Ebo Taylor has been around. This new album finds him rarking it up with some meditative, at times thrilling, and often cheery Afro-beat including trancey, brassy opener Nga Nga, the percussive shuffle and horn-driven Obra, and a couple of interlude-style instrumentals keep things head-nodding along through the middle.
