It's remarkable how a bloke like Canadian musician Bill Leeb can go from making gritty, heavy electronic music in pioneering industrial acts Front Line Assembly and Skinny Puppy to coming up with adult contemporary electronica as the leader of Delerium. Perhaps best known for 1997's Silence (featuring singer Sarah McLachlan), this is the group's 14th album with the poppy pulse and electric lash of Chrysalis Heart and the liquid beauty of Light Your Light, two stand-outs. For the uninitiated, there is a touch of the cheese factor to the soothing, soaring vocals. But on the darker, throbbing Sky (Tears From Heaven) and instrumental centrepiece Rain Down there are subtle hints of their industrial roots.
