KEY POINTS:
Some boys love Aja Rock. Having her company for the afternoon would be a dream for many blokes, particularly if you like sideling up to fame as much as the self-proclaimed "Mayor of Newmarket" Cameron Brewer.
Remember him publicly pouring himself all over Dan Carter last year? "His Worship" convinced the All Black to set up his Gas fashion boutique in Brewer's neck of the woods. Well, we're still only in February and the ambitious wannabe politico is already lining up his schleb alliances for 2009.
He reckons he's trying to break out of his young Tory mould by arranging to have buxom blonde Aja at his table on Auckland Cup Day at Ellerslie Racecourse.
What's more, when she accepted his invitation via mobile phone, Brewer was Spy-ed collapsing with excitement on Broadway.
When I rang Brewer he flatly denied he was last seen in the foetal position foaming at the mouth outside Smith & Caughey's.
"That's just ridiculous. I was excited she accepted, but my legs didn't give way," Brewer said. "We think it's great because she's an Alannah Hill ambassador and so she'll be wearing Newmarket from head to toe."
Yeah right. The truth is, I reckon, Brewer will be more interested in securing a photograph with the yummy mummy purely for some one-upmanship with his mate, Nick Clelland-Stokes from John Banks' office.
Brewer held the post of the Mayor of Auckland's chief of staff before upping and moving to Newmarket. Clelland-Stokes holds the post now.
Durban-born Clelland-Stokes rose to prominence in Spy last year as the tall, dark and dashing accessory on Katrina Hobbs' arm. The actress has gone, but I hear Clelland-Stokes could win the Oscar for the eligible man role he's currently starring in, whilst toting various pretty blondes around town.
Though, many of them probably are too clueless to know Clelland-Stokes once hailed from the lofty halls of the South African National Assembly - as a Democratic Alliance MP, no less.
He was elected to parliament at the tender-age of twenty-six with a young wife in tow. And in a truly metrosexual move, he took on her name. Nick Clelland became Nick Clelland-Stokes. Sweet, eh? Hate to say it Brewer, but the Safa-Jafa is scoring extra brownie points with that manoeuvre.
They've since split and Nick calls Auckland home now. He was behind the blonde dynamo that is Nikki Kaye and her thrashing victory campaign in Auckland Central last year.
It sounds like it could be pistols in the Domain for the competing foes, sorry, friends. Aja could kiss the winner.
