The human members of Coldplay are not seen at all in the clip but some of their most characteristic features do make the cut.
An unfolding plot focusses on four gorilla's, namely the band, who find a portable speaker in the depths of the jungle and begin grooving to the music.
It's not long before Chris Martin's blue-eyed character jumps to its feet and breaks away from the others.
They meet up again in a clearing where instruments are splayed on the ground, it is here lead guitarist Jonny Buckland's gorilla appears wearing a signature green hat.
Bassist Guy Berryman's monkey is even sporting an earring.
The creative masterpiece was revealed to the world just one day after Coldplay's track Everglow from the upcoming release A Head Full of Dreams.
The full offering hits stores on Friday this week.
There was some confusion when a group of apes burst on stage encircling Coldplay frontman Chris Martin at the American Music Awards, during what appeared to be an ordinary performance of new hit Adventure of a Lifetime.
Everything clicked into place when the group released a full video for the song, where the entire band is portrayed as dancing gorillas.
Directed by Mat Whitecross, Adventure of a Lifetime, is more film than video clip.
You can tell who is who here simply by the way they move, before any instruments are involved. Look a little closer and see the individual hairs and facial features move.
The way each character interacts with the light and the background blends seamlessly is truly a work of art.
Watch until the end and be moved by a touching tribute to the city shaken to its core by terrorist attacks earlier this month.
It reads simply: "Dedicated to the people of Paris where this film was brought to life."
Coldplay previously cancelled a live stream show which was to be played in downtown Los Angeles' Belasco Theatre on the Saturday after the horrifying incident, "out of respect" for the capital.
