Rumour doesn't have it: A rep for Adele has hit back at net rumours that she is suffering from throat cancer.
The British songbird and hitmaker, 23, announced on Friday that she has axed the remainder of her North American tour and all promotional appearances for 2011 to undergo throat surgery.
"It is with deep regret that Adele has been forced to cancel her remaining live dates and promotional appearances in 2011," read a statement on her official website.
"She is to undergo surgery to alleviate the current issues with her throat and a full recovery is expected. As a result, doctors have ordered her to rest her voice and completely recuperate before looking to schedule any work commitments."
Shortly after the announcement was made, rumour spread on Twitter that the Rolling In The Deep singer's condition was a lot more serious - with many speculating that she had been diagnosed with throat cancer.
