Adele regrets trying to collaborate with music idol

Singer Adele regrets trying to collaborate with Blur frontman Damon Albarn on her new album.

Earlier this year, Albarn spoke out about working with the Grammy-winning singer and described her new album, 25, as "very middle of the road".

The Rolling In The Deep singer has now responded to the harsh comment, saying her idea of Albarn was ruined after being in the studio with him.

"It ended up being one of those 'don't meet your idol' moments," she told Rolling Stone magazine."

"The saddest thing was that I was such a big Blur fan growing up. But it was sad, and I regret hanging out with him," she said.

Their collaboration didn't result in a single song for her upcoming album.

"None of it was right. None of it suited my record," Adele said.

She also hit back at Albarn's previous comment that she was "insecure."

"He said I was insecure, when I'm the least insecure person I know. I was asking his opinion about my fears, about coming back with a child involved - because he has a child - and then he calls me insecure?"
