It's fair to say Tricky is probably still best known as the musical genius behind Maxinquaye, his startling debut album from 1995. And you can expect to hear creepy classics like Overcome and Black Steel when he plays the Powerstation on February 22.
But he's also made eight albums since then, including this year's well-received Mixed Race which features the single Murder Weapon, and with its Peter Gunn Theme-style groove it's one of his best songs to date. In contrast to the stoic and often agitating mood of Maxinquaye the new album is a lighter and almost breezier offering from the dark lord of trip-hop.
Tickets go on sale December 15 at Ticketmaster.
