A couple from Married at First Sight are expecting their first child

Last year's Married At First Sight contestants Zoe Hendrix and Alex Garner have announced they are expecting their first child.

After experiencing the heartbreak of a miscarriage last year, the pair, who appeared on season one of the reality show, revealed the news to Woman's Day Australia.

"We're absolutely over the moon," Zoe told the mag.

Zoe, who is due in October, said she has had a tough time with the pregnancy, after being diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition with causes severe morning sickness.

"I was in hospital for two days on a drip and was vomiting 30 times a day," she said of the condition which the Duchess of Cambridge also experienced.

"It's calmed down a lot now, so I'm starting to enjoy the journey."

Zoe and Alex were the only couple to remain together after season one of the social experiment.
