As Shortland Street turns 25, New Zealand on Screen opens the archives to bring us 25 years of trivia.
Recipient of perhaps the most memorable line in Shortland Street history - "You're not in Guatemala now, Dr. Ropata!" - Temuera Morrison's three-year stint on the soap was drama-fuelled from episode one.
But the drama wasn't just going on in front of the camera.
Here Morrison recalls the challenges of memorising a mouthful of medical terms, getting told off off-screen, and perfecting the 'hands in pocket' acting style.
