Lynda Topp's (from the Topp Twins) bacon butties recipe is a hit with the local farming community in Staveley. City slickers may like to use wheatmeal bread, aioli and basil in their bacon butties, but farming folk prefer traditional white bread and butter with their bacon.
Ingredients
2 rashers | Streaky bacon |
2 slices | White bread, or wheatmeal sandwich bread (Main) |
2 servings | Butter, or aioli |
Directions
- Grill bacon rashers until just crisp or for a more gourmet buttie, use pancetta.
- Cover each slice of bread with lashings of butter, or aioli if you prefer.
- Place bacon between bread slices to make a sandwich.
- If you feel you need a green ingredient, add chopped basil to aioli.
