The Coney Island dog (Detroit)

Its name references the birthplace of the American hot dog but Detroit’s Coney Island dog is unique for its variations on beef chilli (always made with beef mince, no beans).

Ingredients

2	Frankfurter sausages (Main)
2	Bread rolls, or use cheese roll
2 tsp	Mustard
1 cup	Beef mince, cooked into chilli
1	Onion, small, finely minced
1 handful	Grated cheese, cheddar

Directions

1. Grill or barbecue frankfurters.
2. Warm the rolls and spread with mustard.
3. Add franks, a big spoonful of your favourite hot beef mince chilli.
4. Top with finely minced onion and grated cheddar cheese.
