We used this compote to fill this jam roly poly but it is just as good on scones or pikelets.
Ingredients
5 | Tamarillos, or 6, peeled and chopped (Main) |
1 | Orange, zest and juice, or use lemon zest and juice |
2 Tbsp | Honey |
1 | Bay leaf |
2 | Star anise |
⅓ cup | Strawberry jam, or another favourite (Main) |
Directions
- Simmer tamarillos with the orange or lemon zest and juice, the honey, bay leaf and star anise until jammy.
- Remove spices, and strain mixture through sieve.
- Add strawberry jam (or your favourite type), mix and chill.
