My kids love it! Super easy, great way to use up left over ham. Versatile, can have it hot for lunch or dinner, or in sandwiches the next day.
Ingredients
2 cups | Ham, Cooked and then minced |
500 g | Mince, Lean if possible (Main) |
¾ cup | Rolled oats, Quick cooking |
1 cup | Milk |
2 | Eggs |
1 tsp | Mustard powder |
½ tsp | Ground ginger |
½ tsp | Salt |
¼ tsp | Ground cloves |
¼ tsp | Ground allspice |
¼ cup | Apple cider vinegar |
¼ cup | Brown sugar, Firmly packed |
Directions
- Mix the ham, mince, oats, milk, eggs, mustard, ginger, salt, cloves and allspice together.
- On baking paper or tinfoil make into a loaf shape. Put into slowcooker (on the paper or foil)
- Cook on high for 2 hours
- Whilst loaf is cooking, make the sauce - boil the vinegar and brown sugar together until reduced by about half (should be sweet/sour/sticky). Once sauce has cooled, spoon over the meat loaf. Continue cooking for another hour on high, or until cooked through completely.
- Serve as is, with s mustard sauce, or try mixing a couple of tablespoons of dijon mustard with sour cream and lemon juice for a quick yummy sauce.
