It's superb with cheese and crackers.
Ingredients
3 ½ cups | Malt vinegar |
1 ½ kgs | Peaches, peeled with stones removed (Main) |
2 | Garlic cloves, finely chopped |
100 g | Crystalised ginger, preserved, chopped |
500 g | Dates, fresh |
500 g | Raisins, or sultanas |
1 kg | Soft brown sugar |
2 tsp | Cayenne pepper |
2 Tbsp | Salt |
Directions
- Chop peaches fairly finely. Boil them in the vinegar with the garlic until the peaches are soft.
- Add the remaining ingredients and boil for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Spoon into hot, clean jars and seal.
- Note: Makes about 3.5 litres of chutney
