Hu'a Niu ( Pure coconut ) is the right ingredient for Miti Ika ( raw fish ) If I want to make the Miti Ika ( raw fish ) at anytime this the way I make my Miti with pure coconut milk. I would not use cream at all because- A. Cream is very high in calories. I watch my diet and really believe in watching my diet and eat healthy food. This Miti ( raw fish ) feels so special because this is the original way of how to make the real Miti ( raw fish) When grew up in Kolovai, Tongatapu Is - We self taught ourselves on how to prepare any kind of dishes - food were fresh. We enjoyed the fresh fish from the ocean everyday. Feeling so special having fresh fish from the ocean and fresh veges from the garden everyday.

1 tsp | Sea salt |
1 drizzle | Pepper |
1 | Banana leaf |
Directions
- First you get the banana leaf. Turn the Gas stove element on and heat it over the flames until soft. Fold it in half and put aside. Slice the fish into square and marinate it with I lime or lemon. Chill it for 20 mins. Grate the fresh Niu ( coconut ) squeeze the hu'a Niu ( coconut milk) out by adding 1/4 - 1/2 cup of warm water. Take the fish out from the fridge and pour the Hu'a Niu over the fish. Add chillies, spring onion, tomato, dill, sea salt & pepper. Pour the Miti ( raw fish into the Lou Fusi ( banana leaf ) wrap it up and tie it with the strap from the back of the banana leaf.
- Serve it with Hawaiian purple Kumara, sliced Tongan Kape, fresh organic avocado and steam Kale or Pele leaves. ( taro leaves ) optional
