I have been making McHerbert burgers since my son's were in Primary school and they are now 39 and 31years old!! They were always asked for at birthday, BBQs and any other time really!! The added breadcrumbs are always the left over crusts from my home-made bread.
Ingredients
1 kg | Minced raw beef (Main) |
2 cups | Breadcrumbs |
6 | Shallots |
6 | Sun-dried tomatoes |
½ cup | Basil leaves |
1 | Egg |
1 tsp | Salt |
½ | Freshly ground black pepper |
Mayonnaise
1 Tbsp | Mayonnaise |
Directions
- Put bread crusts in processor with the shallots, sun-dried tomatoes, shallots, basil leaves, salt and pepper.
- Put Angus beef mince in a big bowl and break up. Tip bread etc mixture onto bowl with mince, crack the egg on the top, put some disposable gloves on and mix everything together well.
- Shape into burgers. I use an old Tupperware burger- making set. Works really well!! While burgers are cooking toast buns/bread, pile on rocket, fresh tomatoes, gherkins?, ( What ever you like!) put some Mayo mixed with Dijon mustard mixed into it on top inside of bun and ENJOY!!!!
