For afternoon tea there is nothing more special than baking your grandmas special recipes.Iam amazed at the cafes that do well always have the grandma specials...ginger crunch,caramel slice ,louise cake,coconut choclate slice etc and this is another either eaten on its own or jazzed up with a dollop of whipped cream n strawberry slices, poached berry apple compote
Ingredients
250 g | Butter |
180 g | Caster sugar |
1 tsp | Vanilla essence/extract |
1 cup | Ground hazelnuts (Main) |
1 cup | Cornflour |
2 cups | Plain flour, Sifted |
Directions
- Preheat oven to 160C
- Beat softened butter n sugar till creamy n fluffy Add vanilla then dry ingredients beat till all combined Roll out to required thickness I like quite thick n cut with heart shape cutter
- Place on slicone sheet on baking tray Bakes for 25 to 30 minutes slightly golden Cool store in air tight container
