Warren Elwin has taken liberties, twisting the gremolata idea to create toppings to add a healthy zing and maybe a bit of crunch to almost anything.
Ingredients
1 cup | Cheddar cheese, and parmesan, freshly grated (Main) |
1 Tbsp | Sesame seeds |
1 tsp | Poppy seeds |
2 rashers | Bacon, crispy crumbled or finely chopped |
1 handful | Chives, chopped |
2 Tbsp | Breadcrumbs |
Directions
- Mix cheddar and parmesan cheese with sesame seeds, poppy seeds and some freshly ground black pepper.
- Spread out on baking paper and bake in a hot oven until bubbly and golden. Set aside to cool then crumble and mix with crispy crumbled or finely chopped bacon, chives and breadcrumbs.
- Serve sprinkled on soups, roasted vegetables and cooked greens to add some crunchy flavour, or sprinkle on to a batch of scones before baking.
