My delicious lamb burger, served with mint jelly and salad is a hit with the family and friends alike. It's a naughty treat that we enjoy on rare occasions.
Put sugar and yeast into warm water and leave for 15 minutes. Mix salt into flour. Pour yeast water into flour and mix. Leave mixture in bowl for several hours while flour rises. Take (moist) mixture out and gently pat down on lightly floured board to about 1 inch in height. Cut into pieces about 5cm long by 3cm wide. Warm up a fry pan of oil and gently fry bread pieces until golden.
Chop coriander then mix together all the hamburger ingredients together, season with salt and pepper and shape into burger patties. Gently fry hamburger patties until cooked through on both sides. Spread mint jelly on the bread and then assemble burgers with cheese, tomato and lettuce.
