Ingredients
2 steaks | Venison leg steaks, eye fillet (Main) |
1 drizzle | Tamari |
9 small | Red cherry tomatoes |
1 small | Red onion, finely sliced |
1 handful | Chopped fresh coriander |
1 splash | Lime juice |
1 dash | Sesame oil |
1 sprinkle | Salt, Pink Himalayan |
1 sprinkle | Cracked black pepper |
1 medium | Avocado |
Directions
- Make a little salsa style salad. Half or quarter tomatoes, salt and pepper them. chop up lovely red onion, squeeze of lime (the bottle one is fine _ I always have in my cupboard) cut in coriander (with scissors or how ever you like to chop herbs) , avocado is optional. drizzle some sesame oil on (not too much).. stir it up and set aside ready to serve. Add some lovely mesclun (epicurean supplies napier) if you want more greens, or perhaps some fresh young watercress
- Cast Iron Frying Pan, Hot. Use oil (I use Lupi Organic Olive Oil) Cut1 to 1.5 inch fat steaks (to suit) Place Venison in pan, add a few drops of Tamari directly on uncooked side (I like Kikkoman Brand). This tends to soak in and flavor the meat and gives a nice brown sear. Turn over when about 4mm cooked on outer edge. Let other side cook till perfect... Rare is best ;)
