Been handed down by my Mother
Ingredients
1 cup | Standard flour, Pastry |
2 ounces | Butter, Pastry |
1 pinch | Salt, Pastry |
1 Ltr | Water, Pastry Water to mix |
4 large | Granny smith apples, Pie filling (Main) |
4 ounces | Sugar, Pie Filling |
1 Tbsp | Butter, Pie Filling |
½ cup | Standard flour, Topping |
¼ cup | Sugar, Topping |
2 ounces | Butter, Topping |
½ tsp | Cinnamon, Topping |
1/8 tsp | Ground cloves, Topping |
Directions
- Make pastry (See ingredients in notes) and line the pastry in a pie plate
- Pie Filling (See ingredients in Notes) Grate unpeeled apples and mix with the sugar. Press the filling into uncooked pie case. Dot the butter on top of apple and sugar mix.
- Topping Mix ingredients together (see notes) and sprinkle over the pie filling.
- Bake in hot oven 425 degrees for 35-45 minutes or until the pastry edge is golden brown or topping is crisp and brown
