Serve this brussels sprouts dish with roast chicken and gravy and hopefully you’ll convert some still-mistrustful people with lingering memories of nagging at the dinner table.
Serves 4 as a side dish.
Ingredients
700 g | Brussels sprouts, halved (Main) |
1 Tbsp | Olive oil |
3 | Bacon rashers, diced |
¼ cup | Slivered almonds |
Directions
- Steam brussels sprouts until bright green and just tender (I steam them with a few tablespoons of water in a covered dish in the microwave for 5-6 minutes).
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan on medium heat and cook bacon until crispy (about 3-4 minutes). Add almonds and cook a further minute until lightly toasted.
- Add steamed brussels sprouts to the pan and toss with bacon and almonds. Delicious served with roast chicken and gravy.
