These came about as a cross between the ever-popular espresso martinis and the classic affogato. Here, the coffee doesn’t need to be hot. I make plunger coffee with freshly ground beans, and that works perfectly for this cocktail. You can make it hot and let it cool or prepare it the night before and brew it cold.
Ingredients
30 ml | Vodka, or gin (Main) |
30 ml | Kahlua, or another coffee liqueur |
100 ml | Black coffee, espresso or plunger |
1 scoop | Vanilla ice cream, use a good quality |
Directions
- In a cocktail shaker, add the vodka or gin, kahlua, and coffee. Shake well over ice.
- Strain into a martini glass (or a vintage champagne saucer) and add a scoop of vanilla icecream. Serve immediately.
