Rucking good street food to enjoy before or during the All Blacks-Pumas test match
Choripan
The choripan is a popular street food snack in Argentina. Incredibly simple but oh so good, it’s just sausage, bread and chimichurri (see below). Traditionally chorizo is used to fill a chargrilled baguette or roll, but any type of sausage can be used. Sometimes mayonnaise or salsa are added, or a combination of both.
Beef empanadas
Traditional, easy to make pastry dough makes the difference to these small, oven-baked "pies" — they will melt in your mouth. You can make the dough and the filling a few days in advance. Serve them with chimichurri, perhaps the most famous Argentinian sauce, similar to pesto, and very popular throughout South America.
Chimichurri
This basic version of the famous sauce uses fresh parsley, oregano, garlic, oil, vinegar and a little fresh chilli.
The lomito is perhaps as common as the burger on the streets of Argentina. This steak sandwich is made with Argentinian beef, using the filet mignon or eye fillet steak, normally cut thin so it cooks quickly. The completo refers to "completing" the sandwich by loading it up with just about everything else that’s tasty.
