I am most certainly not a dad but I love a well-made black pudding which Warren is incorporating in to his apple and potato tart, pear crostini, breakfast beans and fried egg sandwich this week. If you're in Auckland we recommend you try Nick's black pudding from Meat on Ponsonby, made using a recipe handed down through his family of butchers.
I also love corned beef, so thank you Jools Topp for sharing your old-fashioned slow-cooked corned beef recipe. The butter, balsamic and honey sauce is a delicious combination, I can see why the Topp Twin's dad, Peter, likes it so much.
Fried chicken is another favourite and thanks to A Taste of Grammar (the new Auckland Grammar cookbook) we have Anthony Hoy Fong - the school's most famous culinary figure - recipe for fried chicken.
I also love to get out on the water and catch a snapper for dinner, oven roasted the way Zoya and her Dad Sid are cooking it this week. So we are in no way saying our recipes this week are for men only. We are saying our men have great taste and would be most appreciative of one or more of these meals being incorporated in to their Father's Day this Sunday... and so would the women that are most probably cooking them.
