8:30am One nashi pear and a trim flat white (no sugar). I don't usually feel hungry in the morning and I really don't like muesli so fruit is the easiest option on the run; sometimes I don't eat breakfast which I know is really naughty!
12ish pm I am really hungry so I pop to the closest sushi place and grab a six-pack teriyaki chicken sushi with avo and a Coke Zero — I eat this at my desk while I am working to get through emails etc as I know I have meetings most of the afternoon. I snack between meetings all afternoon as I'm still hungry. By the end of the day I have gone through nearly a whole 150g pack of Mother Earth nuts (mix of almonds, cashews, goji berries, brazil nuts and dried blueberries). I choose nuts because it seems like a healthy alternative to a bag of chips.
7pm 1x piece of wholemeal crumbed Sealord hoki with a big side salad. I have only recently started eating fish so frozen Sealord crumbed fish is all my boyfriend can convince me to eat — I eat it with lots of tartare sauce.
8pm I am still hungry after dinner so I have a piece of watermelon and a pot of yogurt to get rid of my sweet craving.
Nadia Lim’s nutrition quick fix
If you can’t stomach much breakfast in the morning, take it with you — how about a bran and banana muffin? Make in bulk and freeze them, so you can take one with you in the mornings. While diet soft drinks are sugar-free and have next to no calories in them, their health effects are still questionable due to the artificial sweeteners they contain. Though their long-term health effects still remain unknown, you can be sure they’re not good for your teeth due to the acidity which erodes tooth enamel. It’s always best to have water. Watch the tartare sauce which, like mayonnaise, is very high in fat and an easy way to stack up the calories in one meal.
