Five of our favourite burgers
We're celebrating everyone's favourite fast food, the burger, and encourage you to sink your teeth into these juicy homemade burgers for dinner tonight. If you're looking for more recipes, head to our burger and sliders collection.
Big bite burgers

Warren Elwin recreates a favourite takeaway burger at home - build your own Big bite burger with quality beef mince, sweet and spicy pickles, onions, lettuce, cheese and an oh-so-special burger sauce.
Tandoori chicken sliders

Sid Sahrawat's tandoori chicken sliders from his award-winning Cassia restaurant are a favourite with his daughter Zoya. Little slider brioche buns - the burger bun of the moment - make them a little extra special. The spicy and flavourful chicken pieces, which are coated with ground Indian spices and a tandoori masala, are complemented nicely with a cool coriander relish.
Fish burgers

Geoff Scott's fish burgers are so simple that you can get this onto the dinner table pronto. Drizzled with a classic tartare sauce, these tasty burgers are as popular with the kids as they are with grown-ups, and a good way of getting fish onto the weekly menu.
Falafel burgers

Nutritious, packed with fibre and Middle Eastern flavours, these falafel burgers can be served in pita pockets or Turkish bread buns and drizzled with a creamy red pepper aioli. Vegetarian-friendly.
Turkish lamb burgers

Pack a pattie with lamb mince and bulghur wheat, and add flavourings such as chopped fresh herbs and ground spcies and you've created a Turkish-inspired lamb burger that can match any takeaway alternative.
Fries with that?

Serve your homemade burgers with Peter Gordon's perfect French fries or crispy potato skins. For a Kiwi twist, these kumara and taro chips - served with a sweet and spicy tomato sauce - are something a little unique to go with your burgers.
