Z Energy has installed electric vehicle charging stations at two of its Wellington sites.
The stations can now be plugged into at Z on Vivian St in the city and Z Petone.
The petrol company says it will install six "rapid-charge electric vehicle charging stations" in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch over the next few weeks.
Most charging stations will costs $5 to $10 to fill up, which will take 10 to 25 minutes.
A 25 minute charge will "fill up" an entry level electric vehicle like a Leaf and allow drivers to travel about 120 kilometers, according to Z.
