The group has offices in Onehunga, Newmarket, Mt Maunganui and Thorndon Quay in Wellington. It consists of:
* Hartner Group and Hartner Construction (Onehunga), the $130 million powerhouse of the firm which built major buildings such as five of the six blocks on Princes Wharf and the Sebel Hotel at Viaduct Harbour.
* Hartner Interiors and another interior design arm, Lifestyle Interiors (Newmarket). These were run by Wayne Hartner's wife, Gaile, who has also been involved in the building of the family's new home at 28 Golf Rd in Epsom, a mansion on a $1.3 million section with tennis court, pool and in-house theatre.
* Hartner Joinery, formed to service the joinery and cabinet-making needs of Hartner Construction, but now with its own client base.
* Hartland Group, the property development and investment arm that found development sites, did feasibility analysis, construction management, leasing and marketing;
* Excell Corporation (East Tamaki), 50 per cent owned. This was the works business unit of Manukau City Council that became a local authority trading enterprise in 1995, but in 1998 was sold to investors which included Hartner. It does roading and sewage work and looks after parks, buildings and sports venues.
