KEY POINTS:
A large Australian property business is distancing itself from Auckland's West Plaza building where tenants are complaining about services.
A spokesman for Valad Property Group said tenants should not bring issues directly to the Australian business. Instead, all complaints should go to the Wellington-based owners, Buckingham. Valad only provided funding for the tower but did not have any management responsibilities.
Roger Kerr, a West Plaza tenant and director of Asia-Pacific Risk Management, is annoyed about issues at the aerofoil shaped white tower on the Albert/Customs Sts corner.
He complained directly to Greg Thompson, Valad's Asia Pacific property head, but said matters had not been resolved.
The Valad spokesman said all tenant inquiries needed to go to Buckingham or its asset manager Robb Noble.
