Vodafone Group has agreed to buy Vivendi Universal's stake in Vizzavi for €142.7 million in cash, giving Europe's biggest wireless company full ownership of the unprofitable internet venture outside France. Vivendi will retain control of Vizzavi France.
Vizzavi was conceived as a gateway the two companies' mobile-phone subscribers could use to access Vivendi's music, movies and games through mobile phones, computers and television.
