US toys with Cupid role

Toy company Mattel is asking the United States public to vote on whether Barbie and Ken should be reunited after a seven-year split.

The company's 50-year-old doll couple split on Valentine's Day 2004 after 43 years together.

Barbie then began a dalliance with an Australian surfer dude-doll called Blaine, while Ken had a role in the computer-animated film Toy Story 3, and appeared at Fashion Week in New York.

Mattel is now asking fans to vote on either doll's Facebook page or on barbieandken.com to determine if they should get back together.
