LONDON - US-based Fortress Investment Group has joined the pack of potential bidders for British music firm EMI, The Sunday Telegraph has reported, citing people familiar with the situation.
Fortress was undertaking detailed work on EMI ahead of an approach for the record label, the paper said.
An EMI spokesman declined to comment, while no-one at Fortress was immediately available to comment.
According to media reports, EMI is in talks with a number of private equity firms including One Equity Partners, a unit of JP Morgan Chase and Co. over potential alternatives to a take-over approach from Warner Music Group.
