An American employment expert says New Zealand companies need to do much more to ensure future workforces are up to the challenges brought on by changes in demographics and increased automation.
Los Angeles-based chief executive of LeadersUP Jeffery Wallace says employers need to get back into the "talent development game" or risk a rapid decline in fortunes.
"We desperately need our employers to upskill our human capital.
"We need employers to understand the value of home-grown talent.
"We also need companies to embrace diversity and inclusion as a competitiveness strategy."
